SunEnviro acquires Advanced Demolition Limited

On 18th January, Sun Environmental Services Group (SunEnviro) acquired Advanced Demolition Limited (ADL), a Hoddesdon-based company specialising in skip hire, recycling, and demolition services.

This acquisition allows SunEnviro to expand its services beyond East Anglia and into Hertfordshire and Greater London.

SunEnviro is a fast-growing brand that consists of flagship skip hire business SunSkips, as well as other strategic acquisitions and upcoming sister companies.

Managing Director Mathew Stewart celebrated this milestone in the company’s rapid growth. He said: “This transition marks the beginning of a new and exciting phase, bringing SunEnviro’s sustainable waste management services to a much wider area of England.

“Adding demolition to SunEnviro’s sustainable services is also a significant turning point and the next logical step for the company as it continues to refine its processes for managing C&D waste.”

ADL delivers a full range of waste management and demolition services, including the dismantling of industrial, commercial & residential sites, tank removal, asbestos removal, land regeneration and bulk excavation. Management will remain in place to ensure a smooth transition.

Since opening its doors in Stowmarket in May 2020, SunSkips has quickly expanded across the East of England.

The acquisition of a second site in Cambridge soon followed, before the opening of SunSkips Haverhill – a groundbreaking recycling facility built to the highest environmental standards.

Investment from May Capital began a new growth phase with the acquisition of Cooks Waste Kare in Ipswich.

Summer 2024 will welcome a two-acre aggregate and soil-washing site into the SunEnviro family. The newly approved site in Thetford will serve as a shining example of SunSkips’ commitment to sustainability by diverting around 100,000 tonnes of C&D waste from landfill every year.

Aggregate and soil are the only waste types SunSkips currently sends directly to landfill, so the new washing site is a significant step towards achieving the company’s zero-landfill goal.

Mathew added: “The acquisition of ADL is more than just a strategic move. It solidifies SunEnviro’s commitment to sustainable growth within the environmental services sector.

“As we continue to grow, our pledge remains unchanged: to redefine industry standards, foster innovation, and champion sustainable practices in waste management.”
