ANDS pioneers new disposable vape product

A new single-use vape that is over 99% recyclable and recoverable has been introduced by ANDS, a company that owns trademarks and distributes alternative nicotine delivery systems.

The creation of SLIX is one of ANDS’ initiatives to provide adult smokers with viable options to traditional tobacco products while reducing the environmental impact. The outer casing of SLIX is made of 100% recyclable high-grade cardboard, with a biodegradable silicone mouthpiece and end piece, making it a sustainable choice.

To confirm its recyclability, SLIX has undergone independent testing by the vape waste specialists at Waste Experts, a subsidiary of the electrical wholesaler City Electrical Factors (CEF).

The tests revealed that the product is 99.29% recyclable and recoverable and is 25% lighter and less complex than the leading brand. It also generates 70% less waste by weight compared to the same leading brand.

Furthermore, the product’s design simplicity allows for easy dismantling, taking only seconds, and reduces waste processing time by 57% compared to the UK’s leading brand. These benefits contribute to cost efficiencies in single-use vape waste management.

According to Fadi Maayta, the President of ANDS, they constantly strive to improve and hope to release a 100% recyclable and recoverable version of SLIX by the end of the year. This will further reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfills. She also expressed concern that if single-use vapes are banned due to environmental concerns, smokers may lose a convenient and appealing alternative to traditional cigarettes.

The first major retailer to stock the product will be announced soon.
