Debuting at Hillhead 2022: Herbst Agri Crusher 900 (AG900)

HERBST Machinery Ltd manufacture an ever-expanding range of screening and crushing equipment for the construction and recycling sectors. With continued innovation and development on existing products, Herbst offer many options for contractors looking for that entry-level machine for their business.

PTO Agri Crusher (AG700)

At Hillhead 2022, Herbst will launch the next generation crusher: The Herbst Agri Crusher 900 (AG900), a machine developed from the existing PTO Agri Crusher (AG700).

The Herbst Agri Crusher was introduced to the market back in 2014, at Hillhead also. Pioneers of this Tractor PTO Powered Jaw Crusher (700 x 400 Aperture), it was a new concept which enabled the contractor to utilise their agricultural tractor. It also allowed for simple transportation of the machine from site to site.

With more and more machines on the ground, the success of the Herbst Agri Crusher has continued to grow. These machines are very prominent in the UK, but many have been exported to all areas of Europe and beyond. The success has driven the company in the direction which reflects the range of tractor powered crushers they have available today.

Feedback from customers is encouraged by Herbst, and with this brings development of existing models and the introduction of new machines – what does the customer want?

“Ideally, a small, compact machine that has the power and capabilities of a large crusher, making it suitable for both small and large scale projects and ultimately more efficient in its operation,” explained one happy customer.

So the concept was to introduce the larger Jaw Aperture (900 x 450) on the same compact and simple design of machine. As a result, the new Model AG900 has all the desirable features and comes with a price tag that is comparatively very affordable for this size of jaw crusher!

The AG900 comes with a larger jaw size of 900 x 450. The heavy duty jaw chamber, with the wider opening gives improved performance and significantly higher output rates. The crushing chamber provides more power and capability when processing large pieces of demolition material and also offers remarkable performance on rock crushing applications, with outputs in excess of 100T per hour. Crush size from 40mm to 125mm is easily achieved by adjustment on a hydraulic hand pump.

Other features of the AG900, due to its size and high output capabilities, include:
• 2 axle running gear to improve stability and braking efficiency on the road, for a machine that is approximately 12,000 kg – depending on specification;
• a wider discharge conveyor that has been extended in length also to facilitate the higher throughput rates, with stockpile height increased to 2.5m;
• HD stability jack legs with lock valves to ensure the machine is relatively level and stable when working.

These simple features have been maintained also, with material being fed directly into the hopper. The Agricultural Tractor PTO drives the crusher directly and tractor hydraulics power the conveyor belt, etc. The crusher RPM indicator, inspection platform, hydraulic braking and LED road lights are all standard on this machine.

The simplicity allows for straightforward service and maintenance. With the correct set-up on the Tractor PTO speed, fuel efficiency can be optimised making the AG900 a very cost effective option for crushing and recycling.

The complete range of products including the screeners, will be available to see at Hillhead with live demonstrations running throughout the event.
