LEADING container repair and refurbishment specialist, UK Container Maintenance (UKCM), has successfully launched a new service with long-standing partner Biffa, the UK’s leading sustainable waste management company, completing national installations of container locking posts.
The latest innovative initiative comes following a highly effective pilot with a large supermarket chain, which saw over 800 steel locking posts installed at 275 sites across the UK from Lands’ End to John o’ Groats. Offering a cost-effective solution for waste container management, whilst improving health and safety for end users, UKCM is now rolling out the service to national and regional waste companies and local authorities.
Installed by UKCM’s expert team, the steel posts are fixed into concrete or tarmac floors, offering a uniform appearance and enhanced protection. Fitted to 240 litre and 1,100 litre metal waste containers, the locking posts prevent loss of bins while also protecting members of the public as a heightened health and safety measure.
Mark Roberts, Technical Director at UKCM, commented: “We have enjoyed an industrious relationship with Biffa spanning over two decades, and the collaboration to launch our pioneering new offering has been hugely successful.
“At UKCM, our customers’ requirements are at the forefront of everything that we do, working closely with them to understand what they need from their waste containers in order to develop solutions to further extend the longevity of these assets. We look forward to supporting more businesses and local authorities across the nation as we extend this offering further.”
