SHE’S a smart cookie and sharp shooter! September’s Skip Chick is Bryony-mai Hammond, of Eco Sustainable Solutions in Dorset!
Howdy! Who do we have here?
I’m Bryony-mai Hammond and I’m 23 years old.
Hi Bryony-mai. Tell us about where you work.
I work at the amazing Eco Sustainable Solutions where I am the office administrator and marketer.
Tell us more!
I have worked for Eco for two and a half years. I originally joined as part of the sales team but upon returning from maternity leave, I was offered the position so that I could work part time.
It’s a new role so my list of responsibilities is growing and evolving. I look after the ordering of office supplies, creating marketing material for internal use and internal communications. I also look after our social media accounts.
Sounds like they’re keeping you on your toes. What do you like about it?
The people are what makes it the best place to work. Working at Eco feels like a having second family because they really take care of you and want you to succeed.
Can’t ask for much more (other than a huge salary and endless holidays, of course). What’s been the strangest day at work?
When I was working in sales, I had a customer walk in to the office, speak absolute gibberish and then walk back out again… that was rather weird.
All part of the fun! What don’t you like?
Probably going to have to be the mud. I’m by no means a princess and I don’t mind wading through mud, but year round your car will either be covered in mud or dust or both. You treat yourself to a valet and by the end of the week, it will be like it never happened.
Apart from cleaning the car, how do you spend your free time outside of work?
I don’t think there is enough room on the page for this list! I enjoy reading, paddle boarding, archery, sewing, retail therapy, designing, aerial hoop, bouldering and pretty much learning anything and everything new.
Nice and quiet then. This might be a stupid question, but have you ever done anything a bit crazy?
Yes, I’ve been cliff jumping in Majorca, and spent a whole night walking around Amsterdam clocking in something ridiculous like 60,000 steps. I’m planning a sky dive for this year but I think my life definitely needs spicing up.
Well, let’s inject some spice with a romantic night out – where to and who with?
Definitely doing some kind of activity or a bonfire at the beach and it would have to be with Henry Cavill because… do I even need to say why?!
Can’t beat Superman… speaking of which, what would be your ideal superpower?
100% telekinesis. I’d find a way to use it for good but also when I’m feeling extremely lazy and can’t be bothered to get up to get myself a drink or something.
Let’s hear your theme tune.
This is hard as I have a very eclectic music taste, but probably Blue Dream – Jhene Aiko, as it’s a calm, relaxed song that I always listen to.
Very chilled. Tell us a fascinating fact about yourself.
I have three! I used to compete in small bore rifle shooting for Dorset and was named Dorset Ladies Champion two years in a row. I am a qualified special effects artist and I’m covered in tattoos (no-one ever expects me to be).
Crumbs, remind us not to get on your wrong side! What three words sum you up best?
Balanced, curious, open-minded.
We all need a holiday – where would you go?
Either Bali or Canada.
We’re packing our cases right now. Before you go, who in the world would be your ideal dinner guest?
Probably Johann Sebastian Bach, so he could play some beautiful music while I enjoyed the meal.
Very sophisticated. Finally, tell us your best joke.
What sits at the bottom of the sea and twitches?
A nervous wreck.
Excellent. Thanks for being our Skip Chick of the Month!
