WREXHAM-based ASH Group, who specialise in a huge range of waste management services, have celebrated the opening of their new state-of-the-art Aggregates Wash Plant in Ellesmere Port.
The facility has been officially opened by Justin Madders, MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston, and will provide 100% recycled and washed aggregates for a huge range of commercial applications.
The operation will produce up to 600,000 tonnes per annum in three sizes of stone aggregates and two high quality washed sands, with two additional oversized aggregates which will help meet the needs of the surrounding area, and further afield.
ASH Group began the design process in 2018 and worked to create a unique system that will grow with the company and industry – ensuring maximum resource recovery. The opening of the new site will reduce landfill waste while offering employment opportunities for the local economy.
Speaking ahead of the site opening John Dennan, director of ASH Group, said: ‘We are delighted to open our new facility and it represents a huge opportunity for the ASH Group. The new wash plant will enable us to provide high value recycled sand and aggregates to the UK construction industry. We are committed to sustainability and look forward to playing a bigger role to help achieve it.”
