THIS year’s National Refuse Championships 2020 has been postponed until 2021. The event was due to take place at Beach Lawns, Weston-super-Mare on Saturday 13 June this year.
Organisers took the difficult decision to cancel the event in light of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, which is predicted to peak over the spring and summer months.
The date for next year’s event will be announced soon.
Spencer Law, founder of NRC, said: “It is with great sadness that we have to call off this year’s event but it is important that we act responsibly to protect communities during this difficult time, especially very vulnerable people. It’s a real shame as we had a record number of teams and sponsors on board for the event.
“On behalf of the NRC team we would like to thank everyone for their hard work and support. Rest assured the National Refuse Championships will be back bigger than ever in 2021!”
