Growth spurt at Clearaway leads to fleet investment

A SURGE in demand over the summer led Midlands recycling and waste management company, Clearaway, to boost its fleet quickly by investing in in a brand-new refuse vehicle.

Calvin Williams, director of Clearaway, said: “We grew faster than expected over the summer and needed another vehicle urgently to meet new demand.”

Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS) managed to supply a brand-new 26t, DAF Hillend Powerlink with UTL trade bin lift, matching Clearaway’s profile exactly, in under a month.  RVS’ RediTruck service provides brand-new vehicles, in-stock and available immediately, in a range of configurations, and fitted with the latest weighing and safety technologies.

Spencer Law, managing director at RVS, said: “We can provide vehicles in short timescales so that companies like Clearaway can respond quickly to market demand without having to wait six-to-nine months for a vehicle from the manufacturer.”

Calvin added: “We’ve used RVS for years, mainly for hire vehicles, and we’d heard of their RediTruck service so we asked if they had brand-new vehicle matching our spec. They did and, within four weeks of placing the order, we received the vehicle, sign-written and resprayed in our corporate livery, ready to go to work. If we’d ordered from the manufacturer, we would have had to wait up to nine months and with the number of customers flooding in that just wasn’t an option.

“We’re over the moon with the vehicle and grateful for the RediTruck service.”

RVS offers the entire range of refuse vehicle services, including a substantial hire fleet, a preventative maintenance service, repairs, breakdown, parts, finance and vehicle transportation.
