LOCAL metal recycler, EMR Metal Recycling, has sponsored this year’s Picnic On The Park, in Anchor Fields Park, Tilbury.
The free event, organised by the Tilbury Riverside Project, is set to take place on 20 August and is the first year EMR, based at Tilbury Dock and East Tilbury, has sponsored it.
The event, now in its fifth year, invites the public to bring a picnic basket, choose a spot in the park and enjoy free activities, which include face painting, dancing, a fancy dress competition for under 8’s and a children’s activity area. Local talent will also be on hand to entertain with exciting performances.
Annie O’Brien, Project Manager for Tilbury Riverside Project, said: “We are very exciting to have partnered with a local company such as EMR, which gives back to the local community. We are really looking forward to the event which is promising to be a fantastic day of fun for all the family.”
Steve Gatfield, EMR Regional General Manager, said: “We are proud to be sponsoring the Picnic On The Park. We put a great deal of importance on supporting the communities that are close to our sites and have recently also helped to regenerate the flowerbed at Tilbury Train Station.
“We believe it is important to support events such as the Picnic On The Park which brings communities together. We will be there, at our EMR stand, welcoming anyone who would like to learn more about the metal recycling industry and our continuing support for projects in Tilbury.”
EMR is one of the world’s leading metal recyclers. The metal and plastic EMR processes saves over 10m tonnes of CO2 compared to using virgin materials.
