CARDIFF-based Forward Waste Management Limited have announced the acquisition of John Ford & Sons Limited.
Established in 1920, John Ford & Sons are the longest established scrap metal recycler in the area, providing scrap collection and recycling services to businesses across South Wales. The acquisition sees owner of the business, Richard Ford, along with a team of experienced drivers transfer to Forward Waste Management, operating from its headquarters at East Moors Road and a recently established two-acre facility at Roath Docks.
“John Ford & Sons have been long standing subcontractors to Forward Waste and have become a much valued service partner, having consistently demonstrated the high level of value, reliability and customer focus that is at the core of our business,” commented Lyndon Ward, Managing Director of Forward Waste Management.
“As Forward Waste continues to grow exponentially, our metals management operations have become a major activity for us; we’re therefore excited to acquire this well established and trusted metals management firm.”

Based from two sites at Cardiff, Forward Waste Management are South Wales’ leading independent waste management service provider, predominantly to the manufacturing sector. Operating a range of waste management services from dry waste and recycling, through to hazardous waste management and industrial services, backed by an extensive transport fleet and waste transfer facilities, Forward Waste also incorporates its own waste handling equipment division, Enviroquip, manufacturing and supplying a comprehensive range of waste compactors, balers and ancillary equipment.
