PERTHSHIRE-based Binn Group has become the first recycling and resource management company in Scotland to receive top tier certification from global assessment body NQA.
The company has earned ISO 45001 status, marking it out as having the highest level of certified Occupational Health and Safety management systems. Binn Group Commercial Director Jim Brown said the landmark certification was “a tremendous achievement”.
“We were not obliged to achieve this level of certification,” Jim said, “but we decided to go for it to guarantee we had attained the highest possible standards to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and clients.
“It has been a lot of hard work and extremely challenging but our success sets Binn Group apart as a company that goes the extra mile to demonstrate our commitment to health and safety and the environment we operate in.
“This is hugely significant in an industry that historically did not enjoy a great reputation for health and safety,” he added. “It shows that Binn Group is one of the new generation of recycling and resource management companies that takes this aspect of their work extremely seriously and demonstrates enviable credentials to prospective and existing clients.”
Stephen Burt of NQA congratulated everyone at Binn Group on their groundbreaking certification.
