New service manager appointed at industrial shredding specialist

Industrial shredding specialist UNTHA UK has appointed a new service manager as the North Yorkshire team gears up for their biggest year of projects.

Rob Carnell has joined the business following ten years working for one of the world’s largest forklift truck manufacturer’s Jungheinrich.

Having progressed through the German-owned firm’s training programme, Rob started out his career as an engineer, before advancing into more senior, supervisory positions. His role – prior to joining UNTHA – was area services manager, taking care of an extensive portfolio of customers and supporting 25 engineering colleagues.

Due to his impressive skill-set, Rob was headhunted for the UNTHA job. He will now steer the after sales department through the company’s next phase of growth.

Rob said: “I was really impressed by UNTHA UK’s people-focused approach to business. There is a strong team dynamic, and a customer-centric attitude to work. This is what I look for in a role, and is something I think I can enhance further with my skill-set.

“It’s clear that this is an agile company, and I have a great opportunity to help shape more positive changes as we embark upon our busiest project period to date.”

Currently working his way through UNTHA UK’s existing waste and recycling installations, Rob is touring the country visiting new and existing clients. He has already visited UNTHA’s Salzburg headquarters and is now piecing all of his fresh knowledge together.

“I’m not afraid of having a hands-on role, particularly in these early days,” explained Rob. “I’ve got stuck in with some machine strip-downs and rebuilds, as this is the most effective way to truly learn why UNTHA’s technology stands out from competitors.

“Back at our North Yorkshire HQ I’m looking forward to beginning a series of practical toolbox talks, tackling subjects ranging from safety to customer service.

“Our engineers are a key selling point for clients, so it’s important they know what role they play, and how good they are!”

Elaborating on the reason for his appointment, UNTHA UK’s Managing Director Marcus Brew added: “Rob is clearly an experienced, level-headed engineer with a wealth of customer-facing experience. It’s this technical know-how and commitment to people-driven standards, which we were looking for in our appointment.”

UNTHA UK have an estimated 35 installations forecast before the end of 2018.
