Scott Bros, a Teesside waste haulage and recycling company, is set to invest £600,000 in expanding its fleet.
The six-figure venture move is down to an increased demand for skip hire, waste disposal and recycling services.
The new vehicles include two skip loaders, a Mercedes tipper wagon and a low-loader, with a view to buy two tipper grabs in the coming months.
Scott Bros’ Transport Manager, Peter Scott said: “The recent fleet expansion is essential to support the increasing demand we are experiencing at Scott Bros.
“We’re aiming to increase the company’s provision of skip hire in the North East this year, so we need a higher quantity of vehicles to allow this.”
Scott Bros’ number of vehicles in the fleet now exceeds 50. The haulage firm now aim to provide a comprehensive service across Teesside and areas of the wider North East.
The firm is also looking to increase its recycling capacity. With the addition of the new wagons and low loaders, Scott Bros can now increase transport a higher quantity of materials, while decreasing downtime.
The addition of the 18-tonne skip loaders creates a larger skip hire operation across the North East, whilst the 32-tonne Mercedes tipper wagon transports and delivers materials to the Scott Bros sites for a range of recycling processes.
The new 80-tonne low loader delivers a variety of machinery and equipment across the UK. Scott Bros’ low loader drivers hold essential qualifications, including NVQs and IPAF cards, to enable the safe transportation of equipment on the UK road network.
The two two grab, set to be purchased in the coming months, will have the ability to haul 16 tonnes, and also have self-loading capabilities and feature overhead loading arms.
