Finlay Central delivers Terex Finlay J-960

Henshaws (5)
A Cheshire-based waste management company has taken delivery of new plant supplied by the Finlay Group.

Henshaws, which operates from a 16-acre waste transfer station in Macclesfield, chose the Terex Finlay J-960 due to its quick set-up and ease of mobility.

The machine joins Henshaws’ extensive plant hire fleet, all specified by Finlay Central – part of the Finlay Group of companies.

The crusher

The state-of-the-art Terex Finlay J-960 is an aggressive and high-performance mobile crusher.

Its direct drive single toggle jaw crusher creates efficient production and application versatility.

Offering best in class production levels with large reduction capacities, even at tight settings in recycling and hard rock operations, the Terex Finlay J-960 is the ideal plant for small to medium-sized operators.

Its compact size and remote control capability delivers outstanding mobility on-site. And because it weighs less than 30 tonnes, operators can move it around freely without needing a movement order.

The Terex Finlay J-960 incorporates a hydraulically folding, heavy-duty hopper fitted with integrated vibrating grizzly and pan feeder as standard as well as an over band magnet to extract steel from the material.

Neil Partington, of Finlay Central, said: “The compact size of the Terex Finlay J-960 makes it the ideal plant for Henshaws.

“It can be easily folded up and transported on a low-loader without sacrificing production capacity.

“The aggressive vibratory feeder is powering through 1,000 tonnes of recycled aggregate a day.”

The Terex Finlay J-960 is working hand-in-hand with a Terex Finlay 883+ screener supplied to Henshaws by Finlay Central 18 months ago.

The Terex Finlay 883+ is used to pull weight out of general waste brought to the site to reduce landfill costs. It screens the hardcore prior to crushing and the oversize is fed to the Terex Finlay J-960.

The whole process is producing 10mm, 20mm and 40mm clean aggregates as well as recycled MOT and 6F2.

Mr Partington added: “Here at Finlay Central we can offer a wide range of jaw, compact and cone crushers to suit any business in the waste and recycling sector.”

The company

Henshaws Waste Management was founded by Joe Henshaw in 1989, originally as a coal merchants servicing the Macclesfield area.

A skip hire service was introduced by Joe in the early 90s and, since then, the company has gone from strength-to-strength.

Employing over 70 staff, the business has developed into a complete waste management company operating in commercial, industrial and domestic waste sectors.

Extensive industry knowledge and expertise has seen Henshaws become one of the leading waste recycling operators in the North West – with skip hire, aggregates, scrap car and metal recycling as well as tipping facilities.

The delivery of the Terex Finlay J-960 means Henshaws can keep up with growing demand and maintain exceptional service for a broad customer base which includes householders, the public sector, construction sites and blue chip companies.

Joe Henshaw said: “The new crusher has meant we’ve been able to expand our hire fleet even further.

“The plant is really easy to use and manoeuvre, saving us a great deal of time.”

Working with Finlay Central

Henshaws has invested in 11 machines from Finlay Central over the last 11 years including trommel and finger deck screens in addition to jaw crushers.

Mr Henshaw added: “Finlay Central really look after me, which is why I keep going back to them time and time again.

“I have rarely experienced problems with the plant and, when I have, the engineers have always been here within 24 hours, so I know I’m in safe hands.

“The service and back-up is second to none.”
