Blue Group to Scale it up at this year’s London Lord Mayor’s Show and buy £5,000 blood bike for life saving charity

The Blue Group are taking part in this year’s London Lord Mayor’s Show procession which takes place on Saturday November 14th in the centre of the city. The procession, which this year incredibly celebrates its 800th year, will include more than 7,000 people, 200 horses and 155 floats. One of those floats will be a Blue Fuchs MHL250 material handler that has been converted in to a sea monster in line with the ‘Maritime Theme’ of this year’s show. To achieve the look, the Fuchs machine will include a scaly vinyl wrap and have its grab converted into a set of jaws.

Driving alongside the Fuchs machine will be a ‘Blood Bike’ which has recently been purchased by Blue Group and donated to the charity as part of the Lord Mayor Celebrations. Blood Bikes is a charitable organisation established by local volunteers to deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies, out of hours, between hospitals and healthcare sites and laboratories across the UK. The bike will be driven by Blue Group Director, Eugene Donnelly, who also volunteers to ride the bikes for the charity.

The procession will set off on its three and a half mile route from Mansion House at 11am. It will move west towards St Pauls and continue onto the Royal courts. The return leg sets off from Temple place, right along the River Thames before going along Queen Victoria Street and back to Mansion House.

Staff across all group offices will be attending the event, walking the route with our very own fire breathing monster and supporting this historic event. For more details about the event, visit the Lord Mayor Show Website or call your Blue Representative
