CDEnviro installs the first Road Sweepings Recycling Plant in Australia

CDEnviro’s arrival in Australia has been marked with the installation of the first Road Sweepings Recycling plant in the Southern Hemisphere at Citywide, Melbourne.

Australian physical services company, Citywide has installed a CDEnviro Road Sweepings Recycling Plant to help defer waste from landfill. The recycling plant is currently being commissioned at Citywide’s Dynon Road Waste Transfer Station in West Melbourne as part of a major transformation at the recycling facility.

The process of recycling road sweepings has been proven by CDEnviro, to divert waste from landfill while cleaning and recycling the washing water within the system. The turn-key Road Sweeping Recycling solutions provided by CDEnviro provide the potential to recycle all incoming waste streams to realise the maximum reduction in waste to landfill.

Recycling road sweepings has become common in the UK in recent years because of the rising landfill costs and because of the innovative technology available from CDEnviro, which has brought a commercially viable solution to the marketplace.

Group Manager of Infrastructure & Environmental at Citywide, Matthew Whelan, said the company was eager to keep ahead of the industry, in order to remain competitive in the growing waste sector. ‘To improve the quality of decontamination and maximise the recovery of end products that are able to be upcycled, Citywide turned to this latest technology’ Matthew said. ‘CDEnviro has proven its expertise in the street sweepings recycling sector with installations right across the UK and Europe. Its arrival into Australia will help revolutionise and promote sustainable waste practices well into the future’ he added.
