Tip Number 1
Stick a map of your operating area on your skip hire website.
Skip hire jobs are only viable if it falls in the radius of your operating area. Put up large scale maps in your traffic office so your sales people who are taking incoming calls know where the skip enquiry is. We cannot always relay on drivers sat nav, and the traffic office should be focusing on driver and skip truck productivity at all times.
Tip Number 3
The three day rule: to get those skips turned around quicker, make sure your skip logging system flags up all those skips that have been out over three days, and chase it up. This prevents the customer – and passersby – from overfilling the skip, meaning overheads are decreased.
